Fiji is our beautiful and stable timber manufactured range utilising the same high quality standards as all of S:CRAFT’s substrates. The painted range is manufactured from high quality hardwoods while the stained range is manufactured in paulownia which has a beautiful wood grain. Paulownia is a plantation wood and grows to full maturity in 7-10 years making it very sustainable. It re-grows from the original root ball and is therefore harvested rather than re-planted.
Our painted range of Fiji shutters are manufactured from a range of premium, ethically sourced hardwoods. These materials come with a linear grain that is ideal for painting and gives a flat, uniform and premium finish. Our stained range of Fiji shutters are made from Paulownia, which is cultivated from sustainable plantations and harvested within 7-10 years making it one of the world’s fastest growing tree species. It is able to regenerate from its existing roots and be harvested several times.
Paulownia is a very light, fine-grained and warp-resistant wood making it ideal for shutters. The stain offers a truly wonderful, natural finish in this material. Also, due to its low thermal conductivity, Paulownia is excellent at keeping homes cool in the summer months and warm in the winter. Our stunning range of Fiji shutters are available in 28 colours and 20 stains plus a custom colour match to the UK’s leading paint companies including Delux Heritage, Farrow & Ball, Fired Earth and The Little Greene.
Due to the lightweight nature of our Fiji shutters and their composite values, Fiji shutter panels can be over 1m in width and therefore ideal for large windows and expanses including wardrobe shutters that can be fitted to tracks set within the ceiling or floor and offer a wonderful, lightweight shutter solution over more traditional fixed wardrobe doors. They are also perfect for room dividers because of their weight qualities and wide panel options.
